NEORES VLF is a self catalyzed, glyoxal based, cellulosic reactant which provides excellent durable press performance, and improved shrinkage control on a variety of cellulosic fabrics or cellulosic blended with synthetics. Exhibiting very low formaldehyde emission.

ADVANTAGES:

Compatibility : Compatible with most textile wet finishing agents
except anionic types. Miscible with water in all proportion.

APPLICATION

The fabric should be clean and not contain any acids, fixed alkali or salts or other additives in order to ensure uniform results. The presence of residual alkalinity in excess of 0.05% NaOH will cause yellowing and reduces shrinkage control.

NEORES VLF is precatalyzed and requires no additional catalyst.


Bath Preparation

  • Add diluted wetting agent to about half the water at 70F – 80F.
  • Add the reactant with thorough stirring.
  • Stir in the softeners separately after dilution with water.
  • Bulk to final dilution.
  • Pad bath temperature is optional, but 110F or slightly higher is recommended when padding heavy weight or tightly woven fabrics

Drying and Curing
Cure for 1.5 minutes at 325F.
While satisfactory results can be obtained at other time/temperature combinations, a minimum cure temperature of 300F is recommended. The finish may also be flash cured

Basic Requirements for Successful Resin Finishing

  • Fabric must be suitable for end use.
  • Unfinished fabric tensile >130% of the finished tensile.
  • Bleached and dyed fabric must be clean and absorbent.
  • Fabric alkalinity <0.05% as NaOH.
  • Fabric pH should be 6.5-7.5.
  • Wetting speed <= 5 sec. @ 70-80°F.
  • Use reactant/cat stable components.
  • Use minimum tension in finishing.
  • Use accurate finish mixing procedures.
  • Control of all major variables in process.
  • Wet-pick-up should be 65 – 75% owg at the resin pad.

HANDLING PRECAUTIONS

NEORES VLF should be used in a well ventilated working area. Wear suitable clothing and impervious gloves to prevent skin contact. Use chemical splash-proof goggles for operations where face and eye contact can occur. Use of a respirator is recommended where exposures exceed PEL or are unknown.

In case of spill, cover the material with an inert absorbent, sweep up and place in a waste disposal container. Flush the area well with water.

STORAGE

Storage stability is at least one year at 75F. Will remain fluid and perform satisfactorily if held between 15°F and 120°F, but will darken slowly if held above 90°F.
